Why do we need you to confirm your transfer to Pockit?
When you initiate a transfer to your Pockit account, we may hold the transfer and contact you for confirmation. This extra step is crucial:
- It ensures you're not being defrauded
- It allows you to confirm that you indeed want to make this transfer
- It allows you to decide what you want us to do next
Why are we doing this?
This additional security measure is part of our commitment to protect you from Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud. APP fraud occurs when criminals trick people into willingly transferring money to accounts controlled by the fraudsters. This type of fraud has become increasingly common in the UK, with losses amounting to millions of pounds each year.
To combat this, financial institutions, including Pockit, are implementing extra protective measures to safeguard consumers from such scams. APP fraud can have devastating financial impacts, so we are taking proactive steps to protect you.

What do you need to do to complete your transfer to Pockit?
When you initiate a transfer to a Pockit account, we may hold the transfer and contact you to confirm a thing or two. This extra step is very important because:
- it confirms you're not being scammed
- it confirms that you yourself really want to make this transfer
- it gives you the chance to decide what you want us to do next
Please note: It's crucial to read our email and follow the instructions carefully. We will never ask you to share sensitive information like your PIN or full password via email.
What happens if you don't do anything?
Your action is required to complete the transfer. If we don't hear from you within 24 hours of sending our confirmation request:
- We will return the funds to the originating account
- The transfer to your Pockit account will not be completed
This policy ensures that no unauthorised transfers are processed, even if a fraudster gains access to your account information.
